Within the curriculum at the University of Waterloo the fourth year class travels to Rome for four months to learn about the ancient city and gain a new perspective of designing within a rich architectural environment and urban context. One of the courses for the term asks to develop a sketchbook from sights, experiences and memories caught while in the great city of antiquity, with a focus on the urban and architectural elements of Rome and other Italian cities visited during the term. Below is a curated selection of sketches from my time on the Rome term.
