Marisa Müsing (she/they) is an artist & designer from Tkaronto, Canada. She has a background in architecture, having graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture (UW), and her Masters of Art in Architecture at the Royal College of Art (RCA), London UK. Her work ranges from architecture, furniture design, 3d animations & digital creations, fashion & painting. She is constantly seeking new creative ventures in multiple mediums and scales that allow for playful & beautiful interpretations of the world.

Practice focused on the design and reinterpretation between form and utility, moving away from the expected functionality of everyday objects and structures, aiming to create new domestic environments, where units are homogenized through a common language and identified through its own character. Together they build an autonomous setting independent from the given context. Design, fabrication and distribution various collections between Milan and New York. Work shown at Cosmoscow Art Fair (Moscow), Maison and Objet (Paris), Nomad Circle (Venice), Salone del Mobile (Milan), NY Design Week (New York), and Collectible Design (Brussels) amongst others, and commissioned by clients as WeWork, SquareSpace, and Sight Unseen. The collections “Set No.5” and “Set No.6” has been published in publications as New York Mag, Architectural Digest, Domus, Dwell, Surface, Disegno, T magazine and The New York Times. Appointed as one out of nineteen most influential designers of the US in 2019 by Sight Unseen, and by Dwell Magazine in 2018.

Worked one-on-one with partner, Bika Rebek, on projects ranging from large-scale architectural work to curatorial projects. Assumed lead role for Dhaka Art Summit gallery curation for exhibition, ‘One Hundred Thousand Small Tales, developing drawings sets, renderings and spatial . Independently developed design options for the Samsung Galaxy Flagship Store, Seoul. Collaborated on initial design for the Venice Biennale Slovenia Pavilion 2018. Produced renderings for SML Redlam office new-build and event space and community center in Neuhaus, Austria.

Heavily contributed to two major design competitions at internationally recognized architecture office. Contributed as a key member on a coveted design comeptition for a contemporary art museum in New York, making the site model and larger scaled model for all of the interior renderings for the final submission. Integral to the Place Mazas project, an urban renewal project for the city of Paris, participating in a one-week workshop with the partnering French team, Laisne Rouselle, adding design input throughout the design process and producing renderings and diagrams for the final, winning submission.

Worked both independently and as part of a design team on diverse projects ranging from schematics for a full building renovation for Nuyorican Poets Café, to competition submission for contemporary art museum in Qatar. Contributed to all phases of work on three projects for Parsons School of Design: project manager and millwork designer for the new interdisciplinary Making Center and new School of Art, Media and Technology, and reviewed construction documents for a new School of Constructed Environments. Took responsibilities ranging from construction detailing, code and costing analysis, organizing consultant efforts, client communications, reviewing/checking submission documents for clients and for the New York City Department of Buildings.
